I had to drive to Ipswich today to pick up three more packs of Magic cards from the Ikoria set in order to draft on Labor Day, and it was a delightful afternoon to take a drive! The temperature was perfect, in the 70s, nice cool breeze, bright and sunny, and this delightful smell of fall in the air. Days like this always boost my mood and remind me other delightful fall days in my past. I am continuingly amazed by the way in which smells and certain feelings that transport you back in time to very specific moments and memories. The particular smells and feelings I had today reminded me of a day 12 years ago, I had just broken up with my long term live-in boyfriend, and was out and about visiting yard sales to purchase items for my new apartment. I remember feeling independent and alive and hopeful, with the same crisp fall air rushing through the windows of my car. As painful as that time in my life was, this particular moment was filled with such possibility that it made everything okay. And that is delightful.
With delight,
♥Jamie
